The Angel Fund is a grant program set up in memoriam of Shelley, a kind hearted animal lover, and her cat Maggie. The program provides financial assistance for pet owners struggling with economic hardship when pets are in need of urgent veterinary care. This program has run by Queen Street Veterinary Services since late 2015.
If you know of someone in financial hardship with a pet in need, please have them contact us prior to booking an appointment.
Such a program would not be possible without the generosity of its donors.
What we do to raise funds and awareness:
- Gently used carriers are sold in the retail area– the funds go to this program. These carriers are primarily donated by owners whose pets have passed away.
- Fundraising – in 2016 we provided ‘Angels’ in exchange for donations. The person would write the name of the individual/pet that they wished, and the Angels were hung on display.
- Nail trim clinics – sometimes we donate the funds of the nail trim clinics to the Angel Fund
- Donations from Clients – sometimes clients ask if they can make a donation as a gift to someone after reading our plaque in the reception area. Ask Jennifer for more information
